"VentaFax 5.7" - Ed Gaskill [July 19, 2006] Product Rating: 5/5
Feature rich program that can take some tuning, but then works like a charm. Support is time delayed, but they actually try to work with you. A novel idea. If you need the features, and I do, I haven't found any other software that comes close to matching it. It has made all the difference in the world for me. I have upgraded and likely will do so again. The biggest problem came in changing local exchange carriers with their different parameters. So much better than my previous desk top fax machine that I would never go back.
"VentaFax" - Brian Reynolds [July 5, 2006] Product Rating: 1/5
While I am sure that this software could do what is claimed, to say that it is unintuitive is an understatement. Documentation is virtually non-existent and help is well, very Russian. For me it was a waste of money as I thought that the full version would do what I expect, when I expect, and how I expect. Guess I expected too much so now I have to go try something else.
"Plenty of capabilities IF you can figure out how to use them" - George [June 22, 2005] Product Rating: 2/5
I found this Ventafax software to have boundless poorly documented capabilities that are totally without an intuitive feel, at least for the typical US user. For instance, I spent half an hour trying to figure out how to record a conversation, playing with a dozen or more settings and controls before giving up in frustration. The software has tremendous potential judging by the announced features, steady stream of improvement announcements and available user configuration options but it has a poorly executed and all but undocumented user interface. As far as support goes, US users have to cope with a language barrier because the software was written in the Ukraine and is supported from there as well (the GUI & skimpy documentation are translated for US distribution). Users also have to contend with a 24 hour email response delay due to an 8 hour time zone difference and the total lack of telephone support. Until Ventafax establishes a US presence, with English speaking customer service and support that will communicate by telephone, this software should be avoided by all but the most adventurous users with money to burn or the ability to converse in its “native language”.
"VentaFax & Voice 5.5" - Mike Mason [September 24, 2004] Product Rating: 1/5
Very poor tech support. This product does not work well with some USR external modems. I had to put this transaction into dispute with my credit card company in order to attempt to get my money back. I have since found other products that have the same features that work better. Pity I did not know this at the time of purchase.
"Stay away from 3rd world country software" - Brian [November 6, 2003] Product Rating: 2/5
Cool looking software with alot of features but totally lacks documentation for each of those features. Support is only through email and if you live in the west; response time is 24 hours!
Something about the software you need to know about. You cannot take out their LOGO. If you do, you will have to disable the header. Which totally renders your faxes pointless. And good luck creating your cover page. There goes 80 bucks! I went back to Winfax 10.02
