LoStar Digital Office Communicator is a intra-office communications software for advanced practice management. It is loaded onto an existing computer network and replaces hardware light bar systems with information symbols displayed as icons on the various monitors throughout the practice. The LoStar system is organized around one computer designated as the server where the software is installed and all of the others in the office designated as the clients. Messages are based on symbols or icons that represent people (Resources) such as the Doctor or the Receptionist, locations (Places) such as the lab or an examination room, and activities (Actions) such as cleaning a room or answering a phone call. Even though the colorful icons quickly convey the vast majority of the common communications in the office they can also easily be augmented with text messages as well.
