httpZip is an IIS server module that reduces costs, improves page load times for your site's visitors, and leverages your current server resources -- transparently compressing Web pages using HTTP encoding algorithms supported in modern browsers. This powerful compression reduces page sizes to as little as 2% of their original size. httpZip takes compression even farther by employing optional white space removal and other forms of safe HTML/CSS compression to improve performance and combat hackers' source sifting. Built-in compression cache avoids needless recompression. Features fully customizable compression rules.
"httpzip and memory leaks" - unhappy [June 25, 2003]
Tried the trial version of HttpZip 1.5 on 2 production servers, each with dual xeons and 2GB memory. IIS took over 1GB of memory in about 15 mins. Both servers crashed today, one yesterday. Before installing httpzip the servers ran fine. I've now removed the software and the servers are purring along with IIS taking up about 20MB. Servers are handling around 10 connections/sec each. So there is a leak. Don't know what the circumstances are in how to force it but it exists.

This product leaks memory and customer service wouldn't call me back. Don't believe their fancy web site or FAQ, I think that it is a one person company.
