BalanceNG (Balance Next Generation) is a software load balancing solution which runs on Linux. It offers session persistence, different distribution methods (Round Robin, Random, Hash and Least Resource) and a customizable UDP health check agent in source code. BalanceNG supports VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to set up High Available configurations on multiple nodes. BalanceNG integrates pcap packet dumping for debugging purposes and allows the implementation of a "transparent forensic logging bridge". BalanceNG supports "service load balancing" based on client IP address which enables most protocols to be supported (e.g. active FTP, RTSP/RTP/RTCP streaming protocols).
